Canada Immigration Minister says Immigration Important for Canada's Economic Growth

 The Minister of Immigration of Canada, Ahmed Hussen, was addressing a conference in Toronto, Ontario and he touched a number of topics related to economic immigration and also brought to light the plans of the government to welcoming more immigrants into the country from across the globe.

Mr. Husssen was speaking at the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) law conference earlier this month and he stated that the country increased the share of economic immigration for the year 2017 to more than 300,000 entry. This commitment is a reflection of the idea that immigration continue to play an important role in the economic growth of the country. 


To fulfill this commitment, the immigration department of the country is introducing new programs, testing new ideas and are making the immigration process faster. This will enable the country to attract the brightest and the best from across the globe, which can ensure the economic prosperity of Canada.

The immigration plans that Mr Hussen was referring to were the most recent plans that were presented by the government. With these plans, the number of economic immigrants in the country has increased considerably as compared to previous year.

The government of Canada also made effort to settle tens of thousands of refugees in the country in the year 2016 and now it is making effort to bring in more economic immigrants for the year 2017.

The target of bringing in 300,000 new immigrants that has been set up by the country is quite high as per Canadian standards and the outcome of this plan will determine the future plans of the government. It may be possible that the government set up higher immigration targets than before.

Last October, a government advisory group made a number of recommendations to the cabinet of present government, among this recommendation also included increasing the level of immigration to 450,000 per year.

The immigration plans of 2017 do not intend to meet this target, but it has certainly made many changes in the immigration rules and regulations.
